Nathan Ulery

Nathan Ulery

Managing Director Technology Chicago

Nate is a managing director in West Monroe’s Technology practice, focusing on cybersecurity risk management and cloud technologies for major clients. He has a proven history of working with clients across a wide range of industries to integrate their business and information needs with technology solutions that garner measurable results. He has helped multiple clients avoid or recover from cybersecurity incidents, saving them millions of dollars in lost sales, customer trust, and brand value.

At West Monroe, Nate has a history of shepherding the growth of teams. He built the cloud & infrastructure team from the ground up. While leading our former Managed Services practice, he doubled the team from 50 to 100 members, greatly expanded its services, and earned recognition as a top 20 managed services provider. He is currently working to grow the cybersecurity team in the same way.

Nate is frequently asked to speak or comment on the intersections between technology, business, and cybersecurity and has been quoted in publications such as CRN, CIO, CSO, TechRepublic, and The Enterprises Project.

Nate joined the team at West Monroe in its first six months and set the tone for the Technology team’s “get it done” attitude. He served a 10-year term on the firm’s board of managers and remains a member of the Executive Team. He has a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University.

What makes Nathan different

Nate’s wife Kristen is an elementary school principal, and their 10-year-old son already has already decided he wants to be a data scientist at West Monroe when he grows up. The family lives in the suburbs of Chicago but takes advantage of weekends with nice weather at their lake house in Northwest Indiana, where they enjoy driving their 1939 Pontiac to local car shows and stopping for ice cream on the way home.

Where Nathan makes an impact

Nathan is on the Leadership and Development Council at the Employee-owned S Corporations of America, which acts as the voice in Washington, D.C. that speaks exclusively for employee-owned S corporations like West Monroe. He also serves on the board of Chicago Scholars, an organization that helps first-generation college students from under-resourced communities become next generation leaders in Chicago. West Monroe received the Corporate Star of Transformation Award from Chicago Scholars in 2018, in recognition of our support.
