Director Financial Services Chicago

LinkedIn

Originally an engineer, Dean brought his passion for problem solving to a financial services career and has been using it to make an impact ever since. He recently worked on a commercial banking operating model project that created a front-line sales capacity, streamlined middle-office efficiencies—yielding approximately $30 million in annual benefits. He also helped design a revenue optimization program for a regional commercial bank that generated $3.6 million in closed new revenue within six months of implementation.

His combination of front-line commercial banking leadership and middle-office credit underwriting, policy, and compliance experience provides the foundation for accomplishments that range from process and credit optimization to sales effectiveness to enhanced share of wallet and digital transformation. Clients and colleagues appreciate his high energy and positive attitude.

He joined West Monroe in 2019 from BMO Harris Bank, where he was a vice president and leader of credit policy and regulatory teams, responsible for risk management program compliance. He also held commercial banking leadership roles with several other financial institutions before that. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

What makes Dean different

Dean is into wellness and a healthy lifestyle. He particularly enjoys activities involving physical fitness, such as hiking, running, and tennis, as well as cooking “light.”

Originally raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he has moved many times—but he remains a fan of Pittsburgh sports teams. His passion for music began in the fourth grade with a trumpet and continues today on a keyboard.

Where Dean makes an impact

He is motivated by opportunities to coach and develop the next generation of leaders, both within West Monroe and at our clients. He also volunteers with Feed My Starving Children.
