Doug MacWilliams is an operations professional at heart who strives to understand how and why things work. This has led to his strong interest in organizing and analyzing data to create visualizations that impact business decisions. His combination of industry and consulting experience enables him to bring unique perspectives and creativity to solving technical challenges.
Doug’s expertise is in leading technical teams to create high-quality strategic end-to-end data solutions. These solutions include ETL, data modeling and warehousing, OLAP technologies, KPI development, reporting, and data visualizations. Doug is proficient with a number of data management and analytics tools and leading architecture practices. He also has experience developing web applications and has coded a variety of software languages including Python, Java, C#, and MATLAB across multiple vendor platforms and is a Certified DataStax Architect.
Doug has worked with companies in many industries, including the mobile telecommunications, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, digital marketing, education, insurance brokerage, and private equity sectors.
Prior to joining West Monroe in 2015, Doug was a technical architect for a Chicago-based consultancy. Prior to that, he held programming and development roles in the mobile telecommunications and manufacturing sectors.
Doug earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Operations with emphasis on Small Business Management from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from DePaul University.
