Sourcing products and services in complex, rapidly evolving markets requires striking the right balance of timeliness, cost, service levels, and contract flexibility. That’s Dan’s specialty. Through effective leadership, he has helped companies realize over $1 billion in value.
His pragmatic approach to strategy, vendor evaluation, and contract development considers the financial and operational nuances of creating value. And his experience in and knowledge of the global marketplace – including United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and India, as well as North America – produces contracts and relationships that are ready to deliver on business, financial, and performance goals. Altogether, he has led more than 30 companies through strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and global service migration as a senior executive, external advisor, or outsourcing service provider.
He joined West Monroe from Pace Harmon, where he was a principal. As the firm’s vendor liaison, he met regularly with outsourcing providers to understand their business plans and marketplace developments. Previously, he was vice president of strategy and development with Alliance Data and held consulting roles with Infosys Technologies and Diamond Technology Partners. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Montana State University-Bozeman and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
What makes Dan different
He is an avid mountain biker and four-time finisher of the BC (British Columbia) Bike Race – a seven-day mountain bike stage race that, for many participants, is the culmination of a year or more of training. His side passions include Northern Plains Indian history and portfolio theory.

He enjoys volunteering and is the past president of Bainbridge Lacrosse. He has published many articles on topics such as vendor management, vendor management office (VMO) design and performance, service and vendor analytics, and integrated internal/outsourced services management.
