Director Product Experience & Engineering Lab Costa Rica

LinkedIn

As the Costa Rica office leader, Cristhian knows what it takes to build high-performing teams of engineers and motivate them to deliver impact for clients—fast and efficiently. He implemented a reverse engineering project to insource third-party product support for a technology company, generating over $1 million in savings within nine months, improving the product reliability and reducing customers downtime

He can see the big picture but also dive deep into the details. With a passion for innovation, he can set aside old paradigms and think outside the box to solve business problems. But what he really loves is getting down to work and seeing solutions through to results. He believes nothing is impossible when people have the will to make things work.

He has built and developed teams large and small, and is accustomed to global, fast-paced, and high-growth environments.

He joined West Monroe in 2023 from NI (National Instruments), where he led the Professional Services Delivery team in Costa Rica, providing software development services to NI’s customers. He holds and electronics engineering degree from Instituto Tecnologico de Costa Rica and is an MBA candidate and Six Sigma Black Belt.

What makes Cristhian different

Cristhian spends most of his spare time with his young son, but he will jump at any opportunity to spend time outdoors hiking or relaxing near a natural body of water—lake, river or sea. His favorite thing is nature, and he loves being able to see and visit big green mountains year around. He has twice climbed Cerro Chirripó, the tallest mountain in Costa Rica at 12,536 feet.

Where Cristhian makes an impact

Cristhian values working in an organization with a strong culture of corporate social responsibility. He always pushes himself and his teams to get involved in and give back to the community—whether that is mentoring female high school students to pursue STEM careers or helping with maintenance in Costa Rica’s national parks.
