Matt Sondag is an accomplished executive and entrepreneur who has co-founded two organizations during his 20 years of business and technology consulting experience. Matt utilizes his background and experience to deliver targeted technology-based solutions that drive business value.
With West Monroe Partners, a recognized leader in serving companies involved in mergers and acquisitions, Matt works with private equity and strategic buyers on both buy-side and sell-side transactions. Specifically, he assists buyers with technology and operations diligence, as well as post-close projects such as integrations or divestitures. On the sell side, Matt works with clients to optimally prepare for sale, helping avoid value erosion. Finally, Matt works with portfolio companies to drive value creation through technology or operations initiatives. Over the past eight years, Matt has worked on more than 350 transactions and portfolio-related projects across the healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, retail, software/technology, and business services sectors.
Prior to joining West Monroe Partners, Matt was the co-founder and executive vice president of Five9 Technologies, where he was responsible for corporate strategy and performance, as well as development and delivery of all solutions targeting FORTUNE® 2000 organizations. He led the firm’s Delivery practice, with responsibility for all client delivery and overall quality assurance.
Matt began his career with Arthur Andersen in the Business Consulting practice, where he assumed progressively responsible roles in the Advanced Technology Group. Specifically, he co-managed a multi-year, international deployment of technology solutions for a global organization.
In 2013, Matt was recognized as a winner of the 40 Under 40 M&A Advisor awards.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Miami University (Ohio).He has been active in the community throughout his career, including co-founder and president of Sweet Hope Chicago, co-founder of Five9 Foundation Charity, a volunteer with the Children’s Memorial Heartlight Program, and a volunteer with the Lincoln Park Homeless Shelter. Matt enjoys golf, skiing, hockey, and staying active.
