Dean Fischer has overseen the growth of West Monroe Partners from a start-up consultancy with a handful of employees in 2002 to a full-service business and technology firm with 11 offices across North America and a complement of more than 800 consultants known for their ability to define and execute innovative strategies that harness the power of technology.
More importantly, Dean is known as a recruiter, leader, teacher and motivator of people—playing a central role in defining and maintaining a unique, people-oriented culture that has earned 15 years of accolades, along with a strong client and employee base. In addition to the other typical responsibilities of a board chairman, Dean remains focused on building and maintaining a culture unique to West Monroe.
Dean spent 23 years of his career with Arthur Andersen, where he honed a distinctive blend of business acumen and deep technology skills by serving clients on matters of business strategy, technology architectures and designs, business process change and improvement, technology implementation, and business operations. Over the course of this time at Andersen, he gained a reputation as an entrepreneur with a legacy of rapid service and business development, culminating in large, profitable service offerings. Dean's primary passion today is directed towards the important issues of maintaining a healthy planet through conservation and sustainability activism. Dean served for seven years on the board of the Student Conservation Association, the last three as its chairman. Dean is also currently the board chair of Audubon Great Lakes as well as on the board of Openlands, headquartered in Chicago.
