West Monroe Completes Pro-bono Strategy Project for YMCA of Greater Seattle

West Monroe Partners, a North American business and technology consulting firm, today announced that it has completed a pro-bono strategy project for the YMCA of Greater Seattle. The team helped the Y design and simplify a pricing strategy that encourages equitable access to facilities and services across all of the organization’s constituents. Specifically, West Monroe Partners led strategy definition, employee research, member conjoint analyses and financial modeling to define new pricing principles.

“We are pleased to contribute core business and strategy skills, as well as our time, to assist the Y with this effort, which can have a very positive impact on our local community,” said Kyle Hutchins, director in West Monroe Partners’ Customer Experience practice, based in Seattle. “Social responsibility and building vibrant communities is very important to West Monroe and to our people, and working with the Y to support its services and growth is one way that we are able to give back.”

In partnership with the Y, West Monroe developed innovative options for pricing of services and shared recommendations based on successful practices of other membership organizations. The work also helped the Y to better understand its member base by using data to properly segment existing and prospective members.

“West Monroe Partners’ broad experience with non-profits and membership-based organizations, including other prominent organizations in our Pacific Northwest community, has been very valuable to us as we look to strengthen our ability to engage and serve all of our constituents,” said Robert B. Gilbertson, Jr., President & CEO for the YMCA of Greater Seattle. “Just as valuable as helping us develop a very sound strategy was West Monroe’s ability to engage and build consensus among a very diverse set of stakeholders. The result has received very positive feedback to date.”

West Monroe Partners announced an ambitious social and environmental responsibility commitment in early 2011. Following on the leadership efforts of its clients and business partners, West Monroe commits one percent of its talent in pro-bono work, one percent of its profits in donations to qualifying organizations, and one percent of its collective personnel time to community engagement and leadership activities.
