As West Monroe’s Chief People Officer, Susan lives and breathes our award-winning, people-first culture. She spends her days leading the teams that attract, engage, and retain the best and brightest people so our employee-owners can create undeniable results for our clients.
Susan directs teams that represent the full spectrum of the employee experience, including talent acquisition, development and management and corporate communications. She also oversees the firm’s inclusion and diversity initiatives.
Prior to becoming Chief People Officer, Susan was West Monroe’s chief administrative officer, responsible for firmwide internal operations. She helped orchestrate West Monroe’s conversion to an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) trust in 2012 and believes strongly in the power of “us” that employee-ownership creates.
Before co-founding West Monroe with three colleagues in 2002, Susan was a consultant and trusted advisor to many clients in a wide range of industries. She began her career as a consultant and then manager in Arthur Andersen's Business Consulting practice.
Susan has a bachelor’s degree in Information and Decision Science from the University of Illinois-Chicago and has completed financial management and leadership programs at Harvard Business School and Yale University.
Susan comes from a consulting background, not HR. With first-hand knowledge of the job—as well as the challenges—she understands how to empower our people to do impactful work.
Susan is passionate about helping others grow as leaders, both at our firm and in the community. Susan is a member and grantee champion of the Springboard Foundation, which connects emerging afterschool programs with business leaders to help ensure they grow into sustainable programs. She is also a member of the University of Illinois at Chicago Business Advisory Council.
