Artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and the Internet of things (IoT) enable healthcare organizations to focus on the most important aspect of their ecosystem – the patient. This is Robert’s domain. For example, he is currently working on an AI initiative for a value-based care program that will identify people who may have rare diseases.
He is passionate about the application of technology to facilitate transformation across the healthcare ecosystem – and, particularly, to bring better care and outcomes for healthcare consumers. He combines that motivation with deep experience to lead complex business and technology programs that meet the needs of a changing industry and empower life sciences organizations to solve healthcare challenges. Other examples of his work include the application of artificial intelligence for medical affairs and commercial operations, data and analytics programs to collect real-world data (RWD) and enable real-world evidence (RWE), and patient-centric digital platforms.
In addition to solving clients’ challenges, he is leading the development of AI capabilities for West Monroe and our Healthcare & Life Sciences practice.
He has decades of business consulting and industry experience, most of that spent working with the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. His career has included all aspects of management consulting, including shaping business strategy and executing integrated transformation programs. He has a degree in economics and an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
He enjoys studying deep learning, olympic weightlifting, and golf. He qualified for and competed in the Ironman World Championships. He served in the United States Marine Corps.
Robert explored the future of healthcare via his participation with Arivale, as a pioneer in its scientific-wellness program. He is an active member of the MATTER (matter.health) Innovation Mentors Program and mentors a variety of technology-oriented healthcare start-ups. He was named mentor of the year in 2019.
