When it comes to helping businesses achieve measurable results, Barbara makes it happen. Her decades of experience as a consultant, a leader in two professional services firms, and highly-respected board member and advisor to boards gives Barbara great insights into how high-growth businesses work – and how to amplify their performance so they can more effectively operate and serve their stakeholders.
Barbara advises West Monroe as a member of its Board of Directors, serving as the Lead Independent Director and Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee. Her most recent corporate experience was with global consulting firm Accenture, where she served in various leadership positions, including global chief strategy officer for the outsourcing business.
Barbara began her career with Arthur Andersen and spent 23 years with the firm, including 12 years as a partner and two years as the global Chief Financial Officer for Andersen Worldwide.
Barbara also sits on the boards of two publicly traded, global companies, MRC Global Inc. and Noble Energy.
Barbara earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from John Carroll University and is a licensed certified public accountant. She is also certified by Carnegie Mellon and the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) in cybersecurity risk oversight.
Barbara enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. They enjoy global travel, particularly to Italy and their second home in Park City, Utah; intense workouts, which for Barbara incorporate weightlifting moves she learned as a competitive bodybuilder and power lifter in college; and lots of quality time with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
In addition to her extensive experience on corporate boards, Barbara is dedicated to serving the nonprofit community. She is Chairman of the Board of the NACD, Texas TriCities Chapter. She is also a member of the national board of GenesysWorks, an organization that places at-risk students in accounting and IT internships, and a member of the board of directors of her alma mater John Carroll University. She is a frequent lecturer on leadership and governance, and is a judge of both the Rice University Jones School and NYU Stern business competitions.
