Realizing the full potential of outsourcing and strategic supplier partnerships requires the ability to balance the many process and cultural influences involved. This comes only through experience – which is why Andy has been so successful in turning these partnerships into tangible advantages. For example, he led a first-generation infrastructure and applications IT outsourcing project for a major healthcare provider that yielded over 30% cost savings relative to the baseline, while delivering significantly higher service levels.

For nearly 20 years, he has managed outsourcing and strategic sourcing projects for Fortune 500 clients across diverse industries – telecommunications, financial services, consumer products, energy and utilities, and manufacturing – including several deals in excess of $1 billion in value. His areas of specialty include the outsourcing of IT infrastructure operations, applications development and maintenance, contact centers, insourcing IT services, and cloud strategy and migration, as well as the sourcing of hardware, software, and telecommunications services. CIO, CFO, InformationWeek, Forbes, and other publications regularly feature his views on outsourcing and related topics.

He joined West Monroe from Pace Harmon, where he was a managing director. Previously, he spent nine years with Deloitte Consulting’s Telecommunications practice, where he worked on technology outsourcing initiatives in the United States and United Kingdom. Prior to Deloitte, he spent five years with AT&T Bell Laboratories performing systems engineering as a technical staff member.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Seton Hall University.

What makes Andy different

He owns a “super-ugly,” 30-year-old hat that has traveled around the world with him – inside the pyramids of Giza, on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, on safari in South Africa, and across Europe and India. While his family members make fun of it and try to throw it away, he refuses to part with it.

With or without the hat, he loves taking his daughters on outdoor adventures, including kayaking, biking, snowboarding, and hiking.

Where Andy makes an impact

He is committed to helping teammates succeed and develop into the best consultants and professionals they can be.
