Andrew Walker is a senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ Healthcare practice, based in Minneapolis. He has nearly 10 years of experience as a consultant and trusted advisor to healthcare companies.
Andrew Walker is an accomplished healthcare consultant with a strong track record for guiding clients through complex change involving strategy development, technology integration, and performance improvement. His areas of focus include population health, value-based care strategy, consumer/patient experience and engagement, product ideation and development, and process optimization. He also has strong core skills in healthcare administration and operations, electronic medical records (EMR) technology, market research, and point of service collections. In addition, he has supported a number of healthcare mergers and acquisitions.
Andrew’s industry experience includes projects for providers, payers, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, specialty pharmacies, healthcare IT providers, and population health management organizations. For example, he led a cross-functional team at a top health plan through a long-term performance improvement initiative that spanned the company’s marketing, operations, and IT functions. The project led to measurable increases in operational efficiency, customer engagement (Net Promoter Score), and provider satisfaction. In addition, he has directed EMR and IT integration for an academic medical center; revenue cycle process assessment and optimization for a specialty provider; patient and provider satisfaction enhancement for a community health system; and a value-based care strategy roadmap for a primary care network.
Prior to joining West Monroe, Andrew was a healthcare strategy and operations lead for Slalom Consulting and a manager in the Healthcare practice of Huron, one of the largest healthcare consulting firms in the country.
Andrew earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Marketing from Bethel University and a Master of Business Administration degree with concentrations in Healthcare and Strategy from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
