Nathan Ray is a senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ Healthcare & Life Sciences practice, based in Chicago. He has more than 10 years of experience providing an array of strategy, operations, IT systems, and analytics solutions for healthcare payers and providers.
Nathan Ray is an experienced healthcare leader and consultant with an accomplished track record for helping industry organizations transform their businesses. Applying a strong blend of healthcare operations and IT experience, he has worked with many payer and provider organizations to improve financial performance, service delivery, and quality of care through technology-enabled business processes and analytics capabilities.
Nathan's clients include organizations across the healthcare spectrum. He delivers commercial and government (Medicare and Medicaid) claims and analytics solutions for medical and dental payer organizations. He also works with provider organizations - from clinics to integrated delivery networks - to implement practice management, electronic medical records (EMR), and revenue cycle management (RCM) systems and processes. Nathan has also helped healthcare organizations from start-ups to large enterprises implement cost containment/avoidance, payment integrity, process improvement, healthcare information management (HIM), and other solutions.
In particular, Nathan has deep expertise in healthcare analytics solutions and applies this knowledge to meet business intelligence and other needs. His experience spans data quality, data modeling, profiling and factor scoring, data visualization, statistical analysis, KPIs, reporting and dashboards, and predictive modeling.
Additionally, Nathan has provided functional diligence of healthcare systems and processes in conjunction with mergers and acquisitions, and he has worked with both payers and providers to develop and execute post-close integration road maps.
Nathan joined West Monroe Partners in 2014 from Discovery Health Partners/Ajilitee, where he was a director of product strategy and analytics. His responsibilities included expanding product offerings and deepening healthcare focus while extending into new markets. Previously, he was a director of operations with Xerox Services, a healthcare data mining and business process outsourcing company providing claims and eligibility-focused data mining and case management services.
Nathan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University and a Master of Business Administration degree with specialization in Management, Innovation and Change from Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business.
