Greg Pondel is a senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ Mergers and Acquisitions practice, based in Chicago. He applies more than a dozen years of accounting, business and technology experience to help clients navigate critical and complex projects.
Greg Pondel works with mid-market private equity firms and their portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle. With a unique blend of business and technology expertise, he assists buyers with pre-deal technology and operational diligence, as well as post-close integration, merger, and carve-out activities. He has advised buyers on more than 75 potential transactions, focusing on key risks, scalability, and synergy identification across the areas of strategy, people, processes, and technology.
Greg is also an accomplished transaction integration leader with deep experience in IT strategy and system election and implementation. For example, he recently led a project for a $350 million distribution-industry portfolio company to mitigate significant issues and steer the successful implementation of a $4 million ERP solution. He also led IT service management office for the carve-out of a $300 million division of a large public analytics business, including selection and implementation of new back-office systems.
Over the course of his career, Greg has worked with companies in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, field services, financial services, and medical devices.
Prior to joining West Monroe Partners in 2014, Greg spent 10 years leading complex mid-market enterprise resource planning (ERP) projects across many industries. These projects spanned leading applications, including Dynamics GP, AX, NetSuite, and Intacct, providing Greg with a diverse base of knowledge of enterprise systems.
He began his career as an audit and tax associate with CBIZ MHM, LLC, a national provider of financial, benefits, and insurance services to organizations and individuals.
Greg earned a degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
