Mark Nelson is a senior director in West Monroe Partners' Performance Services practice, which partners with clients to run systems and processes successfully to mid-market and enterprise firms. Mark and his team understand the technologies required to support complex business and technology objectives and excel at executing and improving repeatable processes. Mark has 20 years of managed services and consulting experience across multiple industries and technical competencies.
Mark is responsible for a wide range of managed services arrangements across mid-market firms in a variety of industries, with a focus on technology help desk, infrastructure outsourcing, line of business applications, and business process outsourcing to drive business goals. Applying a strong blend of technology and business experience, he provides clients with IT strategy, align IT with business goals and objectives, transform IT organizations into efficiently run IT operations, and provide client service that is continually rated with high satisfaction. Mark also performs technical quality assurance on all managed services strategies, roadmaps, architectures and implementation plans.
Mark’s key skills include managing IT operations, implementing IT process that drives value to an organization, developing and maintaining proactive IT support, project management, turning business needs and requirements into a technology solution, infrastructure design, and project quality assurance. Through his experience implementing complex infrastructure technology solutions, Mark brings a unique blend of technical, process, and project management skills to develop technology solutions that meet business needs and ensure IT operations are maintained to exceed client expectations.
As the leader in launching West Monroe Partners Performance Services practice, Mark is involved in sales, onboarding, assessments, and ongoing oversight for all Performance Services clients. Mark leads a highly skilled team that ranges from help desk analysts to infrastructure architects that supports all clients 24x7x365.
Previous to leading the Managed Services practice, Mark was a co-lead in launching West Monroe Partners Infrastructure Solutions practice, which has successfully completed numerous projects that focused on High Availability Networks, Microsoft infrastructure, Systems Management and Monitoring, Disaster Recovery, and Security.
Over the course of his career, Mark has worked with clients of all sizes and in a wide range of industries, including trading, financial services, professional services, manufacturing, insurance, non-profit, high tech, real estate, and venture capital. Some of Mark’s clients have included: R.J. O’Brien, Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Underwriters Laboratories, Futures Industry Association, Madison Dearborn Partners, ADM, Rosenthal Collins Group, Motorola, Reyes Holdings, and many other mid-market firms.
Before joining West Monroe Partners, Mark worked at two global professional services firms as a manager and senior consultant. He spent six years with Arthur Andersen and two years with BearingPoint—in both cases as a manager within their infrastructure service lines—leading some of those organizations’ largest and most complex engagements.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from Indiana University, Bloomington. Mark has also earned industry certifications from Microsoft and IBM (Lotus).
