Michael Guckian works with large and mid-market financial services organizations to design and deliver critical initiatives that drive performance, growth, and marketplace differentiation. He has extensive experience helping institutions implement new technology solutions – for example, loan origination systems, card conversions and mobile banking platforms – to streamline business processes and drive strategic goals. He also has helped institutions take advantage of technology advancements such as virtualization and cloud computing, as well as new analytics capabilities that use data to transform the way organizations acquire and manage customers.
He also works with client executives to assess and manage risks in lending processes and loan portfolios, prepare for organic or acquisition growth and other operational changes, define target operating models, and create strategic roadmaps for improving business processes.
In addition, Michael spends a portion of his time advising private equity and strategic buyers by providing pre-transaction IT and operational due diligence and identifying transaction risks, synergies, and integration costs. He has managed post-transaction integration, merger, and carve-out activities and helped merging organizations select and implement enterprise software.
Michael joined West Monroe in 2014 from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was a senior consultant in the Strategic Innovation Group focused on new product development and implementation of new product offerings across multiple markets. He also worked with the top financial regulatory organizations to review, analyze, and draft regulatory compliance policies.
Michael began his career with Freddie Mac, where he spent five years in various roles, including data analyst and senior servicing policy analyst for servicer relationship-performance management.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and earned a Certification in Commercial Lending from the American Bankers Association
