Danny Freeman is a director in West Monroe Partners’ Energy & Utilities practice, based in Chicago. He has more than 10 years of experience in financial, operational, and consulting roles responsible for delivering transformational change.
Danny Freeman works with an array of energy and utility organizations to create detailed business cases and financial models related to their adoption of smart-grid technology. He also manages the complex programs outlined in utilities’ smart-grid business plans, including engaging numerous stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Danny’s deep expertise in strategy development, program management, business process design, change management, and smart-grid technologies has produced a track record for successful transformation. In particular, his combination of strong project management and communication skills, financial acumen, and effective critical thinking has enabled him to complete complex projects under tight deadlines with high levels of client satisfaction.
Prior to joining West Monroe Partners, Danny spent several years with a Fortune 500 manufacturer, graduating from the organization’s prominent finance leadership development program. During the program, he worked in various facets of the finance function, including cost accounting and financial planning and analysis, as well as completing a significant assignment with the international internal audit group. While in this group, Danny re-engineered numerous internal processes, including re-focusing audits and operational reviews toward risk-based metrics in order to increase their impact on the organization and enable more effective allocation of internal resources.
Danny earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
