Bill Duffy is a director in West Monroe Partners’ Workforce Optimization practice, based in Chicago. He has more than 25 years of experience leading complex operational improvement programs for a variety of manufacturing and heavy process industry organizations.
Bill Duffy is a highly experienced strategy and operations consulting executive who blends the science of engineering and the art of people into new workforce operating models that maximize productivity and improve business performance.
He offers a wealth of experience that includes operations and strategy leadership; global manufacturing operations excellence from the shop floor to the supply chain; business performance transformation and productivity improvement; commercial, pricing, and sales force effectiveness; operational analysis and due diligence; and global and multi-site project management. He has worked with a wide array of companies across the across the manufacturing, energy, utilities, chemicals, natural resources, industrial and building products, and other sectors.
Bill is a strong leader, mentor, and advocate for his clients’ success. He is skilled at rallying an organization around specific and stretching improvement challenges. He partners effectively with client executives to identify and deploy innovative operations improvement frameworks that deliver significant performance improvements. He also helps clients develop sustainable capabilities for managing change.
Bill joined West Monroe Partners in January 2016 from Evolve Partners LLP, a North American business improvement and operations excellence implementation consultancy for which he was a vice president. A member of the firm’s Executive Leadership team, he led multiple business and operations excellence implementation and performance improvement projects for global enterprises. His previous consulting experience includes roles with BearingPoint, Celerant Consulting, and Deloitte & Touche. Bill also was a business unit manager with Illinois Tool Works’ Deltar/Impro division for nearly a decade.
Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and a Master of Business Administration degree with specialization in Finance and International Business from Loyola University Chicago. He is a certified Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt.
