Chicago, IL – August 22, 2012 – West Monroe Partners, a North American business and technology consultancy, announced that it has been named one of Consulting Magazine’s 2012 “Best Firms to Work For.” This is the third year Consulting Magazine has recognized West Monroe Partners in its annual workplace ranking, and the first time outside of the ‘small firm’ category. The Consulting Magazine ranking is developed through a comprehensive look at the quality of life within the consulting profession’s top firms based on responses to an independent survey of nearly 13,000 consultants representing more than 400 firms. West Monroe Partners ranked 15th overall, as well as tenth in the category of Firm Culture and fifth among multi-service firms.
In ranking West Monroe Partners among its 2012 best consulting workplaces—defined as those with more than 250 billable consultants—the publication cited the firm’s high scores in the areas of Firm Culture and Career Development. The firm, along with all recognized consultancies, is profiled in the “Best Firms to Work For” special section of Consulting Magazine’s August 17 issue.
“From day one, ours has been a different type of consulting workplace, and that is by intent,” said Dean Fischer, West Monroe Partners’ president, CEO and one of its founders. “The same factors that drive our growth—focusing on the quality rather than quantity of our client relationships, aligning our rewards with value delivered, and measuring our success as a firm rather than as individuals—are the factors that make a difference in our culture and our people’s career opportunities.”
Founded in Chicago in 2002, West Monroe Partners has developed a full-service business and technology consulting organization on a platform of people-focused core values. The company has rigorously maintained this focus as it has grown to 8 offices across North America and a team of more than 350 consultants—in part by remaining 100-percent employee owned. Its innovative people first practices include a highly collaborative and participatory environment in which people at all levels contribute to the company’s direction and share in its results. Because of its size and predominantly middle-market client base, consultants have opportunities to assume significant client service and internal team responsibilities early in their careers.
West Monroe Partners has received numerous accolades for its workplace and people first practices. In addition to recognition from Consulting Magazine, the firm has been recognized nationally by Vault.com and regionally by the Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business, the National Association for Business Resources, Columbus Business Journal, Seattle Business Magazine, Seattle Business Monthly, and Puget Sound Business Journal.
Consulting Magazine’s annual Best Firms to Work For survey is open to all consulting firms that currently employ at least 20 billable consultants; the publication names a separate list of “Best Small Firms” for consultancies with between 20 and 250 consultants. Results are based on survey data from at employees on six, equally-weighted categories: Career Development, Compensation and Benefits, Firm Culture, Work/Life Balance, Firm Leadership, and Client Engagement.
