As the industry has consolidated, many banks have grown by acquisition but have not standardized key processes and systems. Critically, these include key lending processes which have come under fire during the current financial crisis. As a result, some banks find it difficult to respond to evolving regulatory requirements and to manage risk effectively in their loan portfolios.
