West Monroe Project™ is a web-based, real-time project management and reporting tool that allows companies to track costs, hours, expenses, and revenues to projects. The tool facilitates team collaboration, workflow and e-mail notifications, real-time project status reporting, issue tracking, invoicing and receivables, project forecasting, and communication to specific user groups, and it includes a user-rights component that allows control of more than 100 application rights for groups and specific users.
 

West Monroe Project™ allows the definition of new projects as they are needed and includes the workflow and approval functionality to ensure that each project is created correctly. Projects of various types can be created to track internal costs (business development or internal initiative projects) and revenue generated (chargeable projects). Employees can be assigned to projects as project managers in order to manage a project's financial aspects, task progress, and issue status or as a team member in order to be assigned to task and issue completion.

Project managers have real-time access to project accounting information including a summary of generated fees and expenses by person and a view of aging generated fees (inventory) that need to be invoiced. Paid and unpaid invoice detail is quickly accessible and includes an electronic copy of the actual invoice. The project manager can create adjustments to generated fees (write-ups and write-offs), while workflow and e-mail notifications ensure that they are approved and processed properly. Project managers and administrators can view revenue, cost, and margin information at both generated and recovered levels for each team member and the project as a whole.

Team members can easily log the hours they have spent on project tasks by day. The interface allows team members to quickly find the clients, projects, and tasks that they need to report against. Notes can be entered for each time report entry and appear on status reports that help the team and client better understand the work completed and outstanding on a given task.
