Mobile Usability Testing Lab
West Monroe Partners has designed, engineered, and deployed a fully functional mobile usability testing lab to support our robust usability testing and Internet services solutions and to make the process of usability testing as easy, efficient, and accurate as possible. The lab can be set up and operated in any environment that your needs dictate -- yours, ours, a neutral setting, or in a setting that is as close to your target audience as possible. Compact and portable, the lab can be setup in just minutes.
Our mobile usability testing lab includes the following features: - .NET software based and 100% digital usability testing suite
- Simultaneous recording of two independent video feeds
- User interface with no video generation loss (common in all scan converter based video recorders)
- USB2 enabled user video and screen capture (engineered specifically for WMP)
- MS WME codec recording for maximum compatibility with all end user computers
- Real-time “on-the-fly” logging capabilities
- Integration of all medium to time-code for more efficient reporting
- “Pocket-able” Lab -- It can go anywhere
The mobile usability lab facilitates use of critical path assessment--a technique that maps developers' expectations with users' actual interactions with the system page and screen level components. This visual map identifies areas in a user task flow where users get confused and/or abandon the application.
The illustration above is an example of a critical path map that documents the specific areas of focus for each of several test participants. Contact us for more information about the mobile usability lab.
