West Monroe Partners is currently seeking experienced consultants with strong application development skills to work with our clients to solve technology needs. Consultants will be responsible for working directly with multiple clients as a member of a West Monroe Partners engagement team.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of hands-on professional development experience and experience using relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle or MYSQL.
• Knowledge of software engineering concepts (requirements management, development methodologies, testing and documentation) and an understanding of how technology applies to business concepts.
• Understanding of and experience with object-oriented design and development
• Solid software engineering skills and experience with one of the following competencies: .NET framework (ASP.NET, C# or VB.NET, and ADO.NET)
• Experience with web services (SOAP/XML, etc.) is a plus
• Experience with Web development mark-up and scripting languages such as HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, style sheets (CSS), PHP, Perl, etc.
• A desire to work with the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies (Visual Studio 2010, SQL Server 2008, Eclipse, object relational mapping, N-Unit/J-Unit, ANT, Cruise Control, Agile Methodologies, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience with web-based and/or client-server development
• Understanding that he/she will also be responsible for coding as well as design work
• Experience in working with in a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based project environment
• Experience working on multiple client projects at a time
• Desire and ability to work towards leading a team of 2-5 other application developers
• Proactive desire to continue to broaden and deepen technical, business and consulting skills
