Business in the right direction

Best of the West

To our clients and friends:

Next time you are on the train or bus, take note of just how many people are scrolling on their phones or PDAs. The ability to communicate in real time has changed the way that many people conduct business. It also has changed their expectations about access to vital business information.

“Real time” is making a real difference for organizations in all facets of business. What does real time really mean, and what does it take to become a real-time organization? We take a closer look in this third issue of newsletter, Best of the West.

Also in this issue, we explore several timely topics:

  • Five steps for selecting the right enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • The upcoming release of Microsoft® Office SharePoint Server 2007, and what that means for current and prospective users.
  • Techniques for managing relationship data from lead through customer lifecycle.
  • New features that are helping streamline Internet development projects.

I am pleased to share some other exciting developments at West Monroe Partners.

We are pleased to welcome Fred Gattelaro as a senior team member specializing in IT governance and project portfolio management. Fred previously was Vice President of Professional Services for Pacific Edge Software, an IT governance software company, and he has helped many organizations address these issues as a consultant with Arthur Andersen, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Business Engine and other firms.

Our Seattle office continues to add new talent, prompting a move this month to more spacious quarters. Check our site for updated contact details.

And, we recently achieved Microsoft® Information Worker Solutions Competency—recognition of our capabilities for building collaboration and group productivity solutions in areas such as enterprise project management, portals and content management, messaging and collaboration, and others. Among other things, this allows West Monroe Partners early access to information worker solutions beta programs, such as Office SharePoint Server 2007, and to product strategy plans.

Finally, just this week we launched a new and enhanced company website, www.westmonroepartners.com. Our goal was to leverage some of the latest Web technologies and practices (including Joomla! open source content management software) to enable fast, easy access to relevant information. I encourage you to take a look and let us know what you think.

I hope that your business is enjoying success in this growing market, and I wish you and your families good health and happiness as we head toward the holiday season.

Best regards,
Dean Fischer
