West Monroe Partners Named one of Top Work Places 2010
Chicago, IL – November 15, 2010 – West Monroe Partners, a management consulting firm, today announced that it has been named one of the Chicago Tribune’s Top Work Places 2010. The consultancy, with 188 people in Chicago and more than 250 continent-wide, was one of 45 top small employers recognized in the report, a first-year collaboration between the Chicago Tribune and its partner, Workplace Dynamics LLC, to identify the area’s best places to work.
The report ranked West Monroe Partners 12 overall and among the very top small firms for its quality of “execution.” Workplace Dynamics determined overall and specific attribute rankings by surveying employees of nominated organizations. The study highlighted West Monroe Partners’ strengths based on employees’ responses to questions about topics such as “feeling informed” and the organization’s ability to “do things efficiently and well.”
“West Monroe Partners is built on a foundation of people-centered core values. We believe that focusing on our work environment and the experiences we offer our people translates directly into the quality of service we deliver to our clients,” said President and CEO Dean Fischer. “The fact that this ranking derives from our employees’ own perceptions and experiences is very important to us and strong evidence that our very intensive efforts to create a unique culture are working. ”
Inclusion on the Tribune’s Top Work Places 2010 is the latest in a long list of employer accolades for West Monroe Partners, founded in Chicago in 2003 and now with offices in six locations across North America. Earlier this year, Vault Inc. and Consulting Magazine recognized the company in their rankings of top consulting firms for which to work—the latter doing so for the third time in five years. Locally, West Monroe Partners has been named to the National Association for Business Resources’ list of “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” four times and to the 2009 Crain’s Chicago Business “20 Best Places to Work.”
To develop the Chicago Tribune’s ranking of Top Work Places 2010, Workplace Dynamics evaluated companies nominated by employees or customers, ultimately selecting 45 small, 35 medium and 20 large companies to be recognized as Top Work Places. The evaluation process includes a comprehensive employee survey of nominated companies, covering areas such as direction, execution, conditions, career, managers, and pay and benefits. Nominations, which were due by July 30, 2010, were open to all employers, including nonprofit organizations, with at least 100 workers in the greater Chicago area. Eighty-five companies received consideration for the list of best small employers in the Chicago area.
