Chicago, IL – May 18, 2009 – West Monroe Partners, a full-service business and technology consultancy, today announced that Mark Flamme has joined the firm as a director in its Banking & Insurance practice. Flamme will apply more than a decade of experience serving leading U.S. and international financial institutions to help West Monroe Partners’ banking clients improve operations and increase competitiveness.
As a director in West Monroe Partners’ Banking & Insurance practice, Flamme will focus on enterprise and line-of-business strategy, cost reduction, payment initiatives, lending portfolios, effective use of data assets, and evolving regulatory matters. He also will develop and apply new perspectives for geo-spatial risk management, enterprise cost management, and winning the war for deposits, extending West Monroe Partners’ strong banking industry credentials. West Monroe Partners currently serves a wide range of middle-market banking and other financial institutions.
“Mark Flamme has a tremendous track record for helping some of the country’s top banks implement strategic and operational improvements—initiatives that have produced substantial growth, cost savings and other benefits,” said Cary Serif, who leads West Monroe Partners’ Banking & Insurance practice and its New York City office. “His management consulting and industry experience is an asset for our team and for our banking clients.”
Flamme joins West Monroe Partners from Deloitte Consulting, where he was a senior manager in the Strategy and Operations practice, specializing in financial services clients. With Deloitte Consulting, Flamme was responsible for selling and delivering projects and cultivating executive-level relationships. He also was one of the founders of the firm’s payments practice, which developed new product concepts in e-commerce, rewards and loyalty, health care payments, and transaction processing; conducted surveys of consumer trust in payments; and executed on multiple payment operations improvement projects.
“West Monroe Partners’ strength in developing strong, efficient banking operations is a good match for my own background and fulfills a significant market need as banks adjust to the current economic and regulatory environment,” said Flamme. “I am excited to be part of a vibrant and growing consulting organization focused on the financial services industry.”
Prior to joining Deloitte Consulting, Mark worked in manufacturing for seven years, assuming roles of progressive responsibility in new product development/innovation, lean-sigma based process improvement, and operations management. Flamme earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia.
