LinkedIn

Sam takes on his clients’ challenges as his own, enabling a deeper level of responsibility that compels him to drive meaningful results. He helped an electric utility gain regulatory approval for a $1.3 billion advanced metering infrastructure deployment by developing a comprehensive customer engagement plan.

The support Sam shows for his clients comes from a place of leadership and innovation. For example, he developed an easy-to-use tool that gives vehicle fleet owners the ability to assess the economic value of electrifying their fleet. One southern California electric utility is using it as a strategic enabler to help them reach their goal of electrifying 75% of their vehicles by 2045.

Sam joined West Monroe in 2015 from Southern California Edison, an investor-owned electric utility company. He has a bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and a master’s degree from the University of California, Irvine.

What makes Sam different

A passionate runner, Sam always makes time to take a run when he’s not spending time with his two young daughters. A former Navy submarine officer, Sam and his wife, a lawyer with the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, moved their family from downtown Los Angeles to Whittier, California.

Where Sam makes an impact

Sam’s unique blend of engineering, military operations, and business experience provides a well-rounded platform for approaching diverse projects and enables him to examine complex issues from various perspectives.
