Rick Powers


Rick Powers is a director in West Monroe Partners’ Operations Excellence practice, based in Chicago. He has more than 20 years of experience and proven success leading a broad range of technology-enabled corporate initiatives. He works with clients across industries to deliver enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions.

Rick Powers is a highly experienced consultant who combines deep financial application knowledge with practical business process optimization and operational management experience to drive sustainable business results. His expertise spans an array of ERP products and all facets of successful ERP selection and implementation—from OPEX/CAPEX considerations to contract negotiation to integration/interface requirements with internal and external systems to application managed services and hosting services. He has developed approaches that enable organizations to reduce implementation timeframes by as much as 30 percent.

Rick joined West Monroe partners in 2016 from NTT DATA, Inc., where he was a vice president and national practice area lead for Infor Lawson and Microsoft Dynamics solutions. During nearly two decades with NTT Data, Inc., Rick led teams of consultants regionally and across the United States, and he worked directly with ERP clients in the insurance, financial services, manufacturing and distribution, public sector, healthcare, professional services, and other sectors. He managed many implementations and upgrades covering a range of functional areas, including accounting, payroll, time and attendance, human resources, purchasing, and supply chain.

Previously, he was a project manager with Transition Systems, Inc., responsible for a 120-hospital general ledger and patient cost accounting system implementation. He began his career with Medical Information Technologies, Inc. (MEDITECH) as an implementation consultant, coordinating implementation of more than 20 hospital information systems.

Rick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts.
