Michael Harris is a trusted advisor and consultant to clients in the food service, grocery, retail, manufacturing and distribution, and eCommerce sectors, including two of the largest food service distributors in the United States.
Michael has managed many engineered labor standards implementation projects, including creating and updating labor standards, implementing standards in both union and non-union environments, and establishing supporting labor management system (LMS) technologies. In this capacity, he develops relationships with both corporate and on-site leaders, directs and develops the assigned resources, creates detailed project plans, and identifies areas of concern and opportunity. His work has helped clients realize significant labor savings through process optimization and accurate task measurement capabilities that increase efficiency and productivity.
Michael’s experience in operations management, process improvement, engineered labor standards, project management, and consulting allows him to view challenges from many different perspectives. His understanding of both the operational and engineering sides of his clients’ businesses makes him well suited to identify and implement changes necessary for improvement, and his experience in training associates and front-line supervisors allows him to work closely with his clients and ensure their success through well-designed change management practices.
Michael joined West Monroe Partners in 2009 from UPS. During his 14 years with UPS, he worked in many capacities, including managing large work groups in both hub and package delivery operations. He also supported those operations in an industrial engineering capacity through business planning and process improvement.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo.
In addition to serving clients, Michael is active in West Monroe Partners’ Columbus social responsibility committee, helping to identify for the firm and its professionals to give back to the community through pro bono projects, volunteering events, and charity.
