John Hurley


John Hurley is a senior principal in West Monroe Partners’ Minneapolis office, specializing in integration solutions for mergers and acquisitions. He has more than 30 years of experience applying business and technology expertise to deliver successful integration projects and other solutions for clients across a broad range of industries.


John Hurley oversees the design, development, and delivery of services related to integrating acquired entities as well as specific functions; for example, combining an acquirer’s and target’s sales forces. He applies deep experience with merger and acquisition integration to help clients avoid common pitfalls and accelerate the progress of combinations to realize value early on and maintain momentum throughout the integration process. John’s areas of expertise include leading large integration teams of business consultants and deep technology specialists and implementing business process and technology change across multiple functions to drive competitive advantage and other business goals.

While his experience spans many industries, from financial services to educational services to technology, John’s most recent work has centered on integrating pharmaceutical acquisitions and commercializing and launching new products in the marketplace. His also has expertise designing and implementing patient support services required for the commercialization of ultra-orphan drugs.

John joined West Monroe Partners in 2013 from On Point, a Minneapolis-based consulting firm specializing in merger and acquisition integration of which he was a partner. He co-founded On Point in 1999. He honed his strong balance of business and technology skills through early career experiences that included roles managing and delivering large system integration projects for Accenture and CSC.
Minnesota Business magazine recently awarded John for Outstanding Achievement in Health Care Information Technology for his work on the design and development of a patient services center hub application.

John earned a BBA degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA degree from the University of Notre Dame.
