Alex Habre is a senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ Energy & Utility practice, based in New York City. He has more than 20 years of experience in consulting, cybersecurity, large systems implementations, Smart Grid and IT Leadership.
Alex Habre is an expert in wholesale power markets, demand response, energy efficiency, AMI value realization and integrating renewables into the wholesale power markets in North America and Europe.
Alex’s experience includes substation cybersecurity and NERC CIP compliance, data analytics, day-ahead and real-time markets, systems integration with ISO/RTO wholesale energy markets, and demand response in both North America and Europe. He also has proven experience with large enterprise system implementations of Market Management Systems (MMS), EMS/SCADA and information technology management.
Alex is a frequent speaker on topics such as cloud computing models and strategies for utilities, data analytics frameworks, demand response and smart homes automation. He has also been a member of various professional organizations, including the ISO RTO Smart Grid Working Group, NIST, IRC RTO Council, the National Action Plan for DR and Smart Grid Security Working Group, and SmartGrid 2.0.
Alex joined West Monroe Partners from Accenture, where he was a principal in the Thoughts and Innovation Leadership practice for utilities.
Previously, Alex worked for the world’s largest, centrally dispatched grid operator and a leading IT consulting firm.
Alex earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in International Business & Finance from Temple University. He was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
