Matt Dauphinais is a senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ Mergers & Acquisitions practice, specializing in conducting transaction due diligence and executing post-close integration plans for both financial and strategic buyers. He has more than a decade of consulting and corporate experience in a variety of strategy, finance, and operations roles.


Matt Dauphinais leads teams at all stages of the M&A lifecycle—from strategy to diligence and synergy modeling to integration planning and execution. His unique blend of industry, functional, and geographical experience and deep analytical skills allows him to approach business problems from a variety of perspectives and tailor approaches for executives, managers, and line employees. In addition, he has a strong track record for aligning and mobilizing teams rapidly to enable transaction goals.

In pre-close scenarios, Matt advises clients on M&A strategy, leads market competitive assessments, and conducts onsite due diligence with an emphasis on business applications (ERP, CRM, HRIS, etc.). In post-close capacities, he leads functional integration teams in finance, sourcing, and revenue cycle management. He also supports internal integration of the distribution and logistics functions to align companies’ online and in-store businesses.

Matt has translated his experience into several key tools that support West Monroe’s M&A capabilities, including an integration playbook, a due diligence analytical framework, a synergy model, and tracking tools.

Over the course of his career, Matt has worked with companies in diverse industries, including retail, consumer products, manufacturing, high technology, healthcare, financial services, and the public sector (both federal and municipal). He has significant international as well as domestic experience.

Matt joined West Monroe Partners in 2014 from Target Corporation, where he was an internal consultant supporting senior supply chain, merchandising, finance, and human resources leaders in executing strategic initiatives. Previously, Matt was a manager and associate partner with Wipro Consulting. Matt began his career with the US Department of Commerce as a special assistant to the Undersecretary for International Trade.

Matt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Spanish from Boston College and a Master of Business Administration degree with concentrations in Finance, Strategy, and Operations from Vanderbilt University.
