Sean Curran is a senior director in West Monroe Partners’ Security and Infrastructure practice, based in Chicago. He has more than 20 years of business consulting large-scale infrastructure experience across a range of industries and IT domains, including extensive work in the areas of data and information security.

Sean Curran’s strong balance of business consulting and deep IT infrastructure experience provides him with a great insight into not only the operational technology issues surrounding most organizations but also the business impacts of information technology. He is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

Sean joined West Monroe Partners in 2014 from Protiviti, for which he led the Central Region Information Technology Security & Privacy Consulting practice. In that capacity, he provided risk management and strategic advice to many of the firm’s top-tier clients on security and privacy, infrastructure and operations, network security and architecture, program and project management, IT governance, and security frameworks such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, ITIL, and ISO 27001. He led the firm’s Australian Information Technology Consulting and Asia Pacific PCI DSS Consulting practices for six years prior to moving to Chicago in 2011.

Previously, Sean held multiple roles with the nab (National Australia Bank), including senior infrastructure architect and senior communications analyst. During his time with nab, Sean led the development of security standards and architectures for the organization’s LAN/WAN environment and developed strategies and architecture for the cost effective management of the institution’s internal client and external customer-facing end user technologies such as ATMs, EFTPOS terminals, teller terminals, and user workstations.

Earlier in his career, Sean held roles with organizations such as Lucent Technologies, Tenix Defence Systems, Tenix Alliance, and his own company, TASC Consulting, for which he managed delivery of technology security, infrastructure, and operations management solutions.
