Benjamin Baenen is a senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ Healthcare practice. He works with an array of healthcare companies —including payer, provider, and behavioral health organizations—to develop, analyze, and implement strategic and operational solutions that drive growth, improve performance, and enhance the customer experience.
Applying a strong blend of management consulting and operational experience, Ben guides large-scale business and transformational initiatives. A relationship- and results-driven leader, he builds strong, collaborative project teams that engage disparate management, operations, and technology stakeholders to facilitate complex operational and organizational change. His focus on communication and relationships has enabled him to deliver a wide array of successful and sustainable strategic and operational solutions.
Ben’s experience ranges from operational process analyses that improve back-office processes and increase efficiency to customer-facing digital strategy and implementation projects that drive a better customer experience. His work has helped clients capitalize on new business channels, reduce core business processes via standardization, increase auto-adjudication rates, reduce headcount, and achieve paperless workflow. As an example, he implemented a custom e-Commerce solution which integrated both the federal exchange (FFM) and private exchange, in addition to a market-leading financial system. He has also helped dental payers define and prioritize business initiatives to improve sales-to-setup, group administration, and payment & billing processes. In addition, he supports Healthcare mergers & acquisitions, including developing and implementing post-close integration plans.
Prior to specializing in the healthcare industry, Ben worked with numerous manufacturing and financial services organizations to analyze, improve, and standardize operations and introduce new technology. He also has substantial experience in the private equity, banking, and energy and utility industries.
Ben joined West Monroe Partners after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from DePauw University.
