Carl Ackermann is a senior manager in West Monroe Partners’ Advanced Analytics practice, based in Dallas, Texas. He has more than 20 years of experience implementing business-driven technology solutions for organizations across diverse industries, including 15 years in IT executive management roles.
Carl is a dynamic technology executive and business consultant with proven experience leading corporate data and technology operations, turning around under-performing organizations, and managing high-performing teams of up to 300 colleagues. Applying deep technical skills and expertise in business intelligence, data management, data governance, enterprise applications, IT operations, and other disciplines, he helps clients develop and implement strategies to create enterprise value and realize business goals.
Carl is motivated by opportunities to help organizations adapt to new business challenges and creative ways to define, deliver, and leverage information-driven solutions. His experience spans the gaming, hospitality, media, energy, insurance, automotive, and other industries, as well as organizations that range from private equity holdings and startups to diverse multinational enterprises.
Carl joined West Monroe Partners in 2016 from Imagine Communications, a Frisco, Texas-based global leader in video and advertising solutions with services spanning 185 countries. As global application and data leader, his responsibilities included business intelligence strategy, data warehouse implementation, data governance and master data management, integration of acquired organizations, and application strategy and management. He directed the successful deployment of Salesforce.com Sales and Service cloud applications across 32 countries in seven months.
Previously, Carl held several technology director roles with Churchill Downs Incorporated, with responsibility for enterprise information management, business intelligence, and customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities covering racetrack, casino gaming and hospitality, and off-track betting operations in several states and the country’s leading online wagering service. Earlier in his career, Carl worked in technology management and consultant roles with Toyota Motor Sales, California Power Exchange, and IBM Global Services.
Carl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Almeda University. He holds Change Leadership and Executive Leadership certificates from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. Carl is also a Board Member of the Boys and Girls Clubs in Dallas, TX.
