MPLS Security: An intersection of technology and process
West Monroe Partners will be presenting on this UTC webinar June 10th
Date : June 10, 2014 Time : 01:00 PM
Join UTC and West Monroe Partners presenters Mike Manske, Dan Frein and Paul Cotter as they discuss MLPS Security and the intersection between technology and process for utilities today.
Industry:

Utilities are seeing unprecedented change with regard to their telecommunication requirements. Gone are the days of needing only analog and DS0 serial circuits. The evolution of smart grid is pushing legacy networks to their limits, requiring high bandwidth, low latency, and IP-based connectivity. The deployment of IP-based infrastructure throughout the field area network poses a security risk which utilities may not be accustomed to handling. The challenge becomes selecting the appropriate technology to facilitate the convergence of IP and TDM traffic, but to also do so in a secure manner; segmentation of services, Quality of Service, and high availability of the network is crucial to maintain the security of data contained within the services. One such approach is to use MPLS, or Multi-Protocol Label Switching.

Join us on June 10th for a technical deep-dive on MPLS, its benefits, and how it can play a vital role in the security of your network.
