West Monroe Partners is currently seeking an Experienced Development Consultant with strong business and technology solutions expertise. The consultant will need to demonstrate in-depth understanding of software engineering concepts and be responsible for working on full lifecycle engineering efforts using Agile methodologies, object-oriented design, and accepted design patterns and practices. Candidates should have experience working collaboratively with client and project teams as well as working from proposal development to deployment. Consultants at West Monroe Partners should be interested in developing and maintaining a professional network of contacts in the local market and demonstrate a willingness to put in the extra effort for their clients, West Monroe Partners and personal growth. • 3-6 years of hands-on professional development and consulting work experience
• BS - Computer Science, MIS or equivalent required
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge and experience with complex business systems integration and custom object-oriented design and development
• Experienced software engineering skills and experience with one or both of the following core competencies:
o Force.com Platform (Apex, VisualForce, SOQL)
o .NET framework (ASP.NET, C#, SQL)
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL tools
• Experience or certification on Salesforce.com Administration or Force.com Development is a huge plus for candidates
• Experience with Agile development methodologies such as XP/SCRUM
• Experience with web services (SOAP/XML, etc.)
• A desire to work with the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies (Force. Com Platform, Visual Studio 2009, SQL Server 2008, object relational (O/R) mapping (NHibernate), NUnit, CruiseControl.NET)
• Solid demonstrated work experience with web-based and/or client-server development
• Demonstrated experience working within technical engagements including proposal development/estimation and throughout the software development lifecycle
• Experience working within a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based project environment
• Interested in developing their professional network through participation in technology user groups, networking events, and technology organizations.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to put in the extra effort (extended work hours, participate in events outside of standard working hours) for clients, West Monroe Partners and personal growth.
• Ability to travel between 20% to 30%
